FAQs

What kind of artistic background do you have?

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.  I took many art classes in high school, instructed by a fantastic teacher.  I've primarily stuck to figure drawing.  I draw a lot of Dragon Ball fan art, but I have my own artistic style that I use on my original characters.  It's still a work in progress, however...

What mediums do you use?

I use a traditional pencil and paper.  However, I've lately been dabbling in digital media.  I currently have a Samsung Note 8 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 for my digital drawings.  I've really been liking what I've been churning out, and I'm learning more and more with it.  I also have a Huion Tablet that I purchased a year ago; however, it hasn't gotten much use.  Perhaps that will change soon...

I also have used Prisma colored pencils in the past, but haven't done any colored pencil work in years.  I recently picked up some alcohol markers that I've been meaning to give a whirl.  Also, clay work has recently piqued my interest.  I might give that a shot sometime soon.

Who are your inspirations when it comes to drawing?

Akira Toriyama is a major inspiration for me.  I really like his unique character design.  Chrono Trigger and Dragonball are two franchises that I grew up with.

Other artists include: John Romita, John Romita Jr, Humberto Ramos, Jim Lee, and Mark Bagley.  I've learned a lot over my life studying and practicing in their unique styles.

What's your goal with your art?  Why this website?

I have no real goal with my art.  It is my oldest and truest passion in life.  I am dedicating myself to always better myself and my art.

Admittedly, I took an extended break from seriously committing myself to my art.  My growth and development as an artist has been greatly stifled because of which.  This website serves as two purposes: 1) to motivate me to continue to pursue my passion; and 2) to publish my art for the world to see, and perhaps even open doors or challenge myself to opportunities that I've always dreamed of.

More to come...
